The Pearl Chapter 1

I thought that the beginning of this book was somewhat slow at first because it was very descriptive. When the baby got stung by the scorpion, I thought that he would die, but it doesn't really seem like it now. The doctor has no right to ignore the other people just because they had no money. I know that Kino is a good father because he was trying to do anything just so his baby wouldn't die from the poison. He also even offered some pearls from his hard work to try and pay for the expenses, but the selfish doctor wouldn't even take that. And I also felt sorry for Kino and his wife because the doctor would have nothing to do with them because they were not rich enough for him. And then he left to take care of some other business in the town.
